'Grease' Is Returning to Theaters For The 40th Anniversary This Spring!

It’s been forty years, but Grease is “still the word.” 

Grease will be returning to movie theaters nationwide this spring to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the hit movie, which starred John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John

The movie, which was released in June of 1978 was based on a musical of the same name. It tells the love story of two high school students: "bad boy" Danny Zucco and "good girl" Sandy Olsson. Plus, the interactions of their friends (the T-Bird and Pink Ladies) at the fictional Rydell High School.

TCM Primetime host Ben Mankieicz will appear on screen before and after the film with special commentary. 

The film be shown at about 700 theaters nationwide for two nights only in April. Those showings will take place on Sunday, April 8 and Wednesday, April 11. Showings are scheduled for 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at most theaters, but check your local listings for more details.
